Watching this video for me gave me alot of food for thought. If monkeys have the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, fair and unfair, equal and unequal, why is it that we as humans, as “superior beings”, still live in a world where inequality is so prevalent. Where even in instances of two people putting in the same hard work, one is better off than the other.
Is that inequality is just an unavoidable aspect of life, where even if everyone tried to make the world an equal place it wouldn’t work? Or is it that we have become so greedy, and self absorbed we care more about ensuring we as individuals are well of, without really thinking much about the other billions of people around us.
I recently came across an article which said that the top 300 richest people in the world, earn more combined than the poorest 3 billion. Now my math isn’t fabulous, but each one of those individuals accounts for 10 million hungry people.
So today I’m putting the question out to you:
Is inequality unavoidable, or is it a result of capitalism and greed?
